R.I.P Sione Matavesi, A Champion in all aspects of life
Today it kinda hit me hard when i read the newspaper and recieved messages about how a good friend of mine, Sione"John" Matavesi from primary school/high school died in what was a tragic situation.i have posted the link of the article, just click below

I first knew Sione from the primary school years, even though we didnt go to the same school his backyard and my backyard was back to back and we'd always play soccer or footy at the park near our place, Also that is where i learnt how to play soccer and footy at the same time as sione taught me some pointers. Later on we went to the same high school and we were in the same science, english, maths,PE, geography and languages classes and even roll call too, Year 8 we were in most of the same classes and even chinese which was cool. Sione left Leichhardt in year 9 to pursue which was a footy career in manly which i heard but not sure if my info is right and later on to become a construction worker who based life values on trust, honesty and hard work. I managed to bump into him a few times over the years at bdays, when he visited his folks in leichhardt and on the streets.
A true champion in all aspects in life as he would cheer you up when ur down and made you feel part of the group when possible.
may my condolences be with his fiancee and his family.
R.I.P Sione, You'll be sadly missed by everyone!

hey my name is Rosa.. I am Siones Fiance's (Jane)'s sister.. ive known Lil John as they called him, since i was 13 years old.. i met him on me and my twin sister Rona's 13th bday. Ive got to say that Sione was one of the funniest guys ive ever met in my life.. He'd always have some way of making you laugh when you'd be really upset.
i was with him and his family on the friday.. he was playing around with his 2 daughters Dakota-Betty and Pipena and put them in the pool.. it was such a butiful day yet the worst the next morning..
he will missed and loved by so many.. it was his bday not long ago on the 20/11/2007 and he wouldve turned 23..
to sione (as Leki n Betty said) i pray that u had an awesum tym on your 1st birthday in heaven.. know that u were there when we all came to visit u last sat with ur dad and sisters..
cant describe the way we all miss u.. just know that Jane and the kids are doing fine and hope one day we'll all be together again..

i just wanted to introduce myself to all reading this msg.I'm Helen Matavesi, I'm one of Sione's older sister's. I want to thank all of you for your comments and remembering my brother.For all your dedication and support.
It makes me cry just reading all your msg.It's 11 months his been in heaven now and i still can't believe it.I sit there and say I can't belive his gone. i pray for him everyday, knowing his alright with our almighty Father, but waiting on the day to see him again is absolute torture. sione and i were very close. He always had my back, he was the only person in this whole world who cared about me.he was the only person who would call just to see how i was,buy really mean it.It was very hard for me on his 6mnts anniverary when his daughter JCEE was born, cause i was the first person he would call when his babies were born.I felt his Spirit that morning at the hospital and knew he was there. I can just imagine the smile on his face. How proud he was.I remember when his eldest daughter Dakota was born he was so happy he called me saying jane was in labour half an hour later he calls back saying she had a little girl.I was so excited and we were both laughing with excitment at the same time i was trippin' my little bro was a daddy.When his second child was born he called me and said "Helen i just had another girl, im like dad" and we both started laughing. cause our dad had 5 girls sione was the only boy."I'm going to name her after grandma.Pipiena".then he said "Helen your the first person i told you know". that's how i remember that conversation so clearly. When JCEE was born it was exciting but there was a sadness inside me as well. Thank God for jane even though she just had their baby she still manage to keep us happy.I wanted to share this with you all, because i know as his older sister how those times in my brother's life were his happiest. IN LOVING MEMORY SIONE DAVID SUNIA MATAVESI. LOVE YOU BRO.
