Feels Great to be back at sounds
There was a time like 3 year ago or so when i wasnt into rnb clubs and music as much and the only time i would hear it is when its on the radio. During that time i would be into my trance, house, breaks kinda music and one place i would hit up is sounds on sunday at greenwood hotel. Me and my mates would just hit up on the beers, wear our sunnies especially aviators and would just chill out, socialise and dance til dark. Then when the old sounds promoters that used to run the place left and new guys came along and it wasnt as great and havent been since..... until
today is where i returned to the place called home to me as i started out in trance/house/breaks/electro. early scare as i was flat broke as but had a mate that would spot me so that i would go to greenwood and off i went.
back on the beers, wearing the aviators, good music and just having fun with friends. it was hard to get back the groove of shuffling but i kinda got it at the end of the night. Had a tops of a night and im planning to go back next week with mates for more.
R.I.P Sione Matavesi, A Champion in all aspects of life
Today it kinda hit me hard when i read the newspaper and recieved messages about how a good friend of mine, Sione"John" Matavesi from primary school/high school died in what was a tragic situation.
i have posted the link of the article, just click below
http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/murdered-for-wanting-quiet/2007/01/06/1167777325516.htmlI first knew Sione from the primary school years, even though we didnt go to the same school his backyard and my backyard was back to back and we'd always play soccer or footy at the park near our place, Also that is where i learnt how to play soccer and footy at the same time as sione taught me some pointers. Later on we went to the same high school and we were in the same science, english, maths,PE, geography and languages classes and even roll call too, Year 8 we were in most of the same classes and even chinese which was cool. Sione left Leichhardt in year 9 to pursue which was a footy career in manly which i heard but not sure if my info is right and later on to become a construction worker who based life values on trust, honesty and hard work. I managed to bump into him a few times over the years at bdays, when he visited his folks in leichhardt and on the streets.
A true champion in all aspects in life as he would cheer you up when ur down and made you feel part of the group when possible.
may my condolences be with his fiancee and his family.
R.I.P Sione, You'll be sadly missed by everyone!
**EDIT**
My Mate Jeff has added a tribute video to Sione
